One of the promising ways of getting education in our time is distance learning, with the help of the opportunities that modern telecommunication technologies provide, and in particular, the Internet. The first experiments in the use of telecommunications in practice determined the place of distance learning, which remains so today: this is additional, that is, not basic education.

Conventional classes both went intramurally and are still going on, despite the explosive development of telecommunication and information technologies. Higher education institutions, especially those in which students study on a paid basis, are different, and today according to some sources 60% of them are in the Russian Federation. Here, distance learning is one of the ways to increase recruitment, and, therefore, funding. That is why, since the mid-90s, distance learning has been introduced more intensively in the system of higher professional education than in the system of primary and secondary vocational education.

Very noticeable shifts have also taken place in the direction of advanced training, not only in the higher education system, but also in all areas of production, where it is advantageous to carry out retraining of staff on the job, while saving on business trips. Yes, and the distance education institutions themselves do not need to spend money on renting or building buildings, utility bills, etc., the conclusion is that the economic benefit is where it exists, and distance learning is developing faster. Thus, distance learning, although today it can be called a rapidly developing form of education, is not as massive and pervasive as the modern computerized community would like.
